how we started
We’re Da Eun and Sophia - we’ve been in a long-distance friendship for 10 years, and we’ve been podcasting together for 5 years!
We met through 🎻🎹 classical music friends in the Bay Area.
During college (Da Eun at Stanford, Sophia at Pomona), we always had so much to tell each other, so we made a joint blog to update each other asynchronously.
After we graduated in 2018, Da Eun moved to NYC and Sophia moved to Seattle.
We started bamboo & glass on a whim to document the whirlwind of changes we experienced post-grad in our 💻🎬career, mental health, and relationships.

Through our podcast, we’ve gotten to:

🤔 dive into unfamiliar topics (personal finance, spirituality, immigration)
😜 invent novel storytelling formats (“Your Next Date” dating show: In each of our 10 episodes, we went on a date with a single friend that one of us knows really well and the other doesn’t, to help listeners get a sense of their dynamic with a friend and with a stranger. We also dropped in audio recordings from their friends to hype them up (and roast them) 👀
